Vulgar, violent, visible and difficult – a fantastic cast of eighteenth-century women were the subject of this two-day conference and ongoing exhibition at the University of York, with contemporary works on display by Jane Wildgoose and other artists, and eighteenth-century costumes by Lindsay Holmes.
